Celebrating 50 years
The PMRC is working to revitalize the cultural footprint of the Punjabi Market in Vancouver - the oldest South Asian market to exist outside of India. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, their plans for a street party were denied. But that opened the door to taking the celebrations online.
Our Involvement
I was brought in to facilitate production, direct and edit a full hour-long variety show that would celebrate the Punjabi Market through storytelling, dance, song and poetry. The resulting video was broadcast via livestream on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook to an audience of thousands.
He has done the community proud.
Working with Inder was a dream come true. From our initial conversations with him to seeing the final product, we were blown away with his work ethic, his commitment and his vision. We had very little time to put together Punjabi Market’s 50th anniversary virtual celebrations and despite being under a huge time crunch, Inder showed professionalism every step of the way and was able to adapt to each performer and interviewee to ensure he delivered the highest quality product. We’re so grateful to have had such a talented filmmaker documenting Punjabi Market’s legacy.
